Supercell's Newest and Hottest Game, Brawl Stars

Supercell, around a month ago, threw in their newest game onto IOS and Android, Brawl Stars. Fans of their many popular and successful games such as Clash Royale and Clash of Clans got excited for the game since Supercell's reputation was floating near the clouds. And those fans were right. When Brawl Stars hit worldwide, it exploded. On the first week of its release, it hit sales of 10 million. Today, we're going to look at the gameplay of Brawl Stars as well as the overall design and features.

What is Brawl Stars?

First of all, what is Brawl Stars? It's okay if you've never heard of it, we've got you covered. Brawl Stars is an app designed for IOS (Apple) and Android. This game is similar to MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena) games such as League of Legends. Brawl Stars features different game modes such as a 3 vs. 3 and even a mode with 10 players. As you gain more trophies from winning games, you unlock different heroes that you can use with many different "Super" Abilities and regular abilities. If you like games similar to this, you'll probably like this one.

Gameplay

The gameplay of Brawl Stars is pretty easy to work once you understand everything with all the different maps, Heroes, and the combat, the way to eliminate people out of a match. And we'll be looking into those three parts of Brawl Stars that make it Brawl Stars.

Maps

Brawl Stars has a variety of maps with some giving off desert and western vibes, while others that are lushly filled with colors such as one map having purple for the rocks as well as the walls and the grass being a deep green. All the maps have different configurations for the barriers that you can use to dodge bullets from an opponent or to camp away from other players and "Lie low for a while." If you don't know where that joke comes from, it's from Red Dead Redemption II, which I'll definitely do a post on soon. Anyway, back to the subject at matter. I'll definitely give Brawl stars a thumbs up for its maps because of the so many places to hide and all the barriers to assist you while you're in battle.

Heroes

There is a grand total of 22 Heroes or I guess you could call them characters in the game. If you've ever played Clash Royale, Supercell added more characters to the game as it went on, so we'll probably see that in Brawl Stars also. All the different characters have different abilities and attacks. Some have guns, some have just their fists like El Primo (A character in the game). Each hero has advantages and disadvantages such as some characters play at their best in only certain modes because of the map and style of the game mode. Not every hero will work out for you, but there will be some that fit your playing style.

Combat

The most key component in Brawl Stars is combat, the way you eliminate people out of the match. The combat system in Brawl Stars is fairly easy to use. You can manually aim your weapon or you can auto-aim, which I highly don't recommend because of its inaccuracy. Since each hero has different weapons, the way you aim the weapons can be different. One hero named Barley throws bottles, so the way you throw those bottles is different than most of the heroes in the game. To sum it up, Supercell definitely put together an easy-to-use combat system that doesn't make people yell "How do you aim this weapon!"

Design and Features

Brawl Stars has a cartoon-ish look to it. The lobby is easy to navigate in, giving you buttons to every different, I guess you could call it page. You can select the different game modes associated with the different maps, view leaders in top trophies and see the clubs with the most trophies, and so much more. By the way, the lobby looks a little bit like the Fortnite lobby. On the "Trophy Road" which is like a timeline of all your trophies, you can unlock rewards like extra coins and even heroes at certain parts of the "road".  You can get farther on the "Trophy Road" from gaining trophies by battling out matches.
Brawl Stars has a great design with a nice user interface. Whoever designed the looks of the characters and the rest of the game did very well.
